We go to church to worship, to rub elbows with other believers, to hear a word from God, to refill our cup.  Paul’s description of Christians in Romans 12:9-21 has something for everyone…an area of weakness or neglect. Perhaps you are in a season of suffering… or suffering through car pick up lines.  Perhaps you withhold your contributions, your words of affirmation, your gifts of praise.  Perhaps your zeal is lagging like our wifi.  Maybe you are a know-it-all and don’t mind telling others.  Take one verse, just one verse, that you think applies to you….take that verse and focus on applying it this week.  Here are three ways to do this in the week ahead:  Spend time with someone who has nothing to give back to you; Ask God if there’s anything you have in your possession that could bless someone else. Maybe it’s a coat, a pair of shoes, a purse, jewelry … what can you give up to bless another?  Write a note of encouragement to someone who is down, sick or weary. Tell them specific things you are praying over their life.signature
