Who is NEXT for?

NEXT is for ALL Students, 13-18 years old.  YOU BELONG!  Your gifts, your big questions about life and faith, your hang-ups, even your doubts.  You BELONG just as you are! We want to help you BECOME all that our Creator has called you to be!

When does NEXT meet?

As of January 11, 2024, NEXT meets each Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.!

We will continue to hold monthly special events, like Color War, Rock the Universe, Laser Tag, etc. on special days and weekends.

What happens at each NEXT gathering?

We start each gathering with games and team-building and then share a meal together.

We follow-up our meal with worship, with an engaging youth talk (message), and with small groups.

What about Sunday morning?

Our students are invited to attend worship on Sunday mornings as well!!  We gather for Blended Worship at 10:30 a.m.

What else?

NEXT Weekdays offers an alternative for students each school day from 7:00-8:30 a.m. and from 4:00-6:00 p.m. NEXT Weekdays provides structured care for middle school students from Lakeland Highlands Middle School before and after school, convenient drop-off and pick-up at Presbyterian Church in the Highlands, as well as opportunities for students to develop as leaders and earn community service.  Our core values are FAITH (in Jesus Christ), ADVENTURE (trying new things, learning from failure, etc.), SERVICE, and TEAMWORK.

We focus on leader development through daily devotions, through goal-setting/daily challenges, through journaling, through team-building, and through community service.  We also provide help with homework and organization.

Each summer we take students to summer camp where they can decompress and also grow in their faith.

Each summer we also engage in a domestic or foreign mission adventure, where students can use their unique giftedness, grow as both as Christ-followers and Christian leaders, and experience new cultures/places.

What Parents & Guardians Need To Know

  2. We have zero tolerance for any hate speech, negative behavior, or bullying.
  3. We will keep your child’s relationship with the group confidential unless we feel the information they share needs to be shared with you or the authorities.
