May is a fun, yet busy month! Children & youth finish up school, vacations are planned, grad parties, proms, and award ceremonies occur. What happens in the church in May? Post Easter, a collective breath is taken and we begin the plans for summer! VBS preparations are underway! Kids are off of school, but parents still gotta work….so the church prepares to minister to those families by providing a weekly camp ministry for elementary age children with a plethora of field trips! May marks the liturgical season of Pentecost, the birth of the church, when the Holy Spirit was received and 3000 people became believers. Pentecost is usually celebrated with symbols of fire, doves, and the color red. This year Pentecost falls on Memorial Day Weekend. All this to say, God is alive and His Spirit breathes within us! Alleluia!
