November culminates with a great feast…a feast in which many jokes can be said. Kevin James said that Thanksgiving is not a good day to be his pants. Jay Leno said that you can tell when you’ve eaten too much when you have to let your bathrobe out. Erma Bombeck said that Thanksgiving dinners take 18 hours to prepare and are consumed in 12 minutes. Halftime takes 12 minutes. It’s not a coincidence.
We all have our favorite dishes or certain traditions to go with it. It is a feast of celebration. Many of us prepare some type of gratitude for family, friends, wealth, or happiness. It originally celebrated the first harvest in a new land in the midst of amazing hardship. Many didn’t make it to that feast. In fact the majority didn’t survive at all.
Today is All Saints day where we celebrate and remember the lives lost. Remember the Saints.
