Have you ever worked really hard on something, but when completed it looked liked something else? One of my favorite categories on Pinterest is the Nailed It board. If you are unfamiliar with Pinterest, it is a website where people post artsy and creative ideas whether it be food, or art, or décor, or clothing. The board called “Nailed it” are a collection of people who tried to emulate what they saw, but their finished product looked nothing like the original. In many ways, we are the “nailed it” version of the original Jesus Christ. Jesus wrote for us a new covenant, sealed in his life’s blood. He has taken the “stinking grapes” of our sin and “trampled out the vintage” of forgiveness and new life. “This is my blood, shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. And as often as you drink it — remember me.” Did you nail it? Or did He?
