The spring semester ends, the summer is around the corner!  As we turn into a more relaxed season of vacations and beach excursions, the ministry leaders at PCH are making attempts to better improve areas of worship, stewardship, communication, and discipleship.  The summer is a time for your leaders to look back on the year and ask, “How can we do that better?”  We are not a church that likes to ‘do what we’ve always done’ but rather experiment and try new things to have a greater impact for Christ in the community.  Your leaders have made some big decisions!  This summer you will start to see the fruit of some of those decisions.  We will be making some modifications to the worship platform to help improve the sound, lighting, wiring, aesthetics, and mobility.

A lot of attention is being given to stewardship. Your elders have listened and studied biblical stewardship practices. We have lots to learn from more successful churches. The elders believe that it is important that I, the pastor, have more knowledge of congregational giving.  This pastoral responsibility was introduced to us by J. Clif Christopher, author of Not Your Parents’ Offering Plate.

We are also studying scriptures and reading books to help us understand the issues on gay marriage that our denomination has delegated to us.  We are in holy conversation and invite you to the process.  Catch an elder or myself and start a dialogue.

These decisions are not being made lightly.  You have elected intelligent, humble, and loving leaders that seek to honor God with their decisions.  They pray for you and seek to draw you into a deeper relationship with Jesus.  We have our eyes on the future and a vision is being given to your leaders.  Will you pray they see clearly through God’s lenses?signature
