Perfected in Weakness

Perfected in Weakness

One of my favorite ironies is the concept of power in weakness.  It doesn’t make sense as power is visible in strength, authority, confidence, and success.  How is there power in weakness?  Some of the greatest stories ever told come from positions of weakness.  Mother Teresa, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Augustine all changed the world because of their weaknesses.  Dietrich Bonheoffer didn’t succeed.  Stephen was stoned.  Every champion and victor has a weakness that when exploited can bring down their pillars of power.  Achilles had a heel, Superman had a horse, David had an affair, Saul had an ego, Goliath was allergic to small rocks, Samson had hair.
