Wow! What a week we had (June 17-23)!

VBS was off the hook! We had an incredible three nights experiencing Shipwrecked Island with about 80 kids and families each night! Our students were rock-stars as crew leaders, station assistants, game leaders, etc. I’m a big believer in mission, but mission starts in our own community (this is Biblical, cf. Jesus words to His followers in Acts 1:8).

We also had a great day serving at One More Child (a.k.a., “Florida Baptist Children’s Home”). Students actually deferred on bowling to spend more time canvassing the community and sharing about the summer feeding program!

We are tackling the end of Matthew 25 (vv. 31-46) tonight! The thing that has always stood out to me about “The Sheep and the Goats” is how instinctive it was for the “Sheep” to care for the needy–they didn’t need to “see” Jesus in the hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, lonely, etc. They just met the needs. They didn’t compartmentalize “faith” (make it just a Sunday thing). They saw each opportunity (need) as an opportunity to show love and compassion.

We’ll dive deeper tonight!

For those available, we will once again serve with One More Child and will meet at PCH at 9 a.m.

We are tubing at Kelly Park!!! Students need to meet at church at 7 a.m. so that we can leave in timely fashion and arrive before the park fills up. You can find more info and access the event waiver at
